Backyard Garden Project

Last year four students attended Permaculture School to learn how to commence and maintain an organic backyard gardening project that will enhance the feeding program at ALCB. Children will be able to receive rice and vegetables instead of porridge everyday. We have introduced this to the Kindergarten Children who have this alternative once per week. As our garden grows we hope to feed them this nutritious meal daily. Our aim is to assist families to maintain their own backyard garden. Presently villagers have their cattle posts far from their homes. They plant and harvest mabele and maize meal. Vegetables are uncommon but essential for the human beings diet. We look forward to the outcome.
