In 2018 ADORE was given an opportunity to assist up to 22 villages in business training for Women Entrepreneurs. ADORE was chosen by the United Nations Women (UNW), to partner in a Programme called AWOME (Accelerated Women Owned Micro Entrepreneur), ADORE qualified after a thorough investigation from UNW through capacity, needs and baseline assessments and studies.
ADORE signed a Project Cooperation Agreement (PCA) with the UNW on 30th July, 2019. ADORE was given adequate time to prepare, hire staff, train and learn about the Programme. AWOME is just one of ADORE Programmes. ADORE attended workshop in preparation for the Programme launch in February, 2020. AWOME is a three way partnership, ADORE, UNW and Botswana Government. It is sponsored by De beers Group. Training Needs Analysis took place by the trainers across the 22 villages. Sixty entrepreneurs were identified and attended a one week business training course in a town called Maun. Women were transported some as far as 600 kilometres away. They were accommodated, catered for and taught by Master Trainers on the Start Improve Your Own Business Manuals (SIYB). All sixty participants received the six manuals and received certificates while attending their graduation ceremony. Covid-19 stopped the advancement of the project. Entrepreneurs are still encouraged and are happy that ADORE still empowers them through visitations. They look forward to ongoing support and more training in the future. ADORE intends to train many more women. Thank you for readings ADORE's Latest Updates
